When Healthcare Feels Uncertain—Explore a New Path
Week of July 6th
Two days after Independence Day, I’m left with a quieter, more reflective feeling. The celebrations feel different this year—I’m seeing a country passing what’s being called the One Big Beautiful Bill, and its impact is already being felt.
This sweeping legislation includes massive Medicaid cuts, work requirements, and coverage changes estimated to push 11–17 million Americans off their health plans over the next decade—especially affecting the most vulnerable groups. One of my peers, a self-employed, single woman over 40, said she worries about how this will hit her. In our conversation, I invited her to consider her options—like relocating to Europe, where she could run her business and access free healthcare with the right visa.
That’s exactly why sharing our stories before the leap can be so powerful. The moment you say, “I’m thinking about it,” you open a door—for connection, insight, and reassurance.
