Remember back in 2016 when you told yourself, “This is it. I’m going to start traveling, maybe even live abroad”? I know life happened, and things got busy… but here we are again.
Is your freedom still important to you? The freedom to experience new cultures, to give your family a better quality of life, to explore a world that’s so much bigger than just one place?
I made that leap, and it changed everything—not just where I live, but how I live. And let me tell you, it’s worth it.
If you’ve ever felt the pull to explore life beyond the borders, maybe now is the time. You can create a life of freedom, safety, and growth.
What’s stopping you? Your freedom awaits.
As an American expatriate living abroad for the past eight years, the recent election results have stirred a multitude of emotions within me. This morning, while watching the outcomes unfold with my youngest daughter, Elise, she posed a simple yet profound question:
“Momma, why does it matter to you who won? We don’t live there.”
I responded, “It’s the country of my birth. Our family lives there. We visit, and I want us to be safe. And one day, you might want to study or live there yourself.”
My journey as an expat—having lived in London, Copenhagen, and now Doha—has allowed me to experience life through new perspectives, cultures, and ways of being that I could have never imagined. Living abroad has not only expanded my worldview but also provided a level of freedom, safety, and quality of life that I hold deeply dear. My business has grown, and my family has thrived in ways that may not have been possible had I stayed stateside.
If you’ve ever considered the idea of living or working abroad, now might be the time to move that thought from “someday” to “soon.” Here are two steps to get started:
1. Get or Renew Your Passport: The world is larger than we often think—this simple action can be the first step toward exploring it.
2. Make Your Business / Work Remote: Whether it’s negotiating with your current employer, building a business, or learning a new skill, setting yourself up to work from anywhere opens doors.
This isn’t about giving up on America. It’s about honoring the freedom to live, work, and raise a family in ways that resonate with our values and needs. Living abroad has enriched my life in countless ways, and I encourage anyone curious about this path to explore it for themselves.
The world is more accessible than ever. If this resonates with you, let’s connect and discuss the possibilities.
